Co-Founder / CEO

Michael Lunzer is the Founder and CEO of Itiliti Health, Inc., where he leads efforts to transform the healthcare industry by streamlining and automating prior authorization. With a career spanning decades of entrepreneurial success, Michael is known for his ability to leverage technology to drive significant efficiencies and deliver measurable returns.

Michael’s entrepreneurial journey began with the co-founding of the first-ever technology-based vendor management system (VMS) for the staffing industry. Acquired by PeopleClick in 2002, the platform revolutionized how staffing needs were managed, processing $2 billion in annual revenue by 2005. This innovation marked the beginning of Michael’s mission to optimize sectors stuck in outdated practices.

In 2007, Michael co-founded Warm Health, an early pioneer delivering a self-learning virtual care manager platform for payers. By automating and streamlining communication between health plans and their members, Warm Health provided a much-needed solution to the inefficiencies in care management communication. The company was acquired by Altegra Health (now Change Healthcare) in 2012, where Michael continued his leadership as business head of the Smart Connect product, further improving healthcare communications.

In 2018, Michael became an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (BCBSMN), where he identified critical inefficiencies in the prior authorization process and medical policy management. His vision for simplifying these complex, friction-filled processes led to the creation of Itiliti Health, which he co-founded and incubated inside BCBSMN. Today, Itiliti Health has a fast-growing list of health plan customers that have implemented its cutting-edge solutions that reduce administrative burden, speed up policy approvals, and improve care delivery – ultimately resulting in millions of dollars in cost savings annually for payers.

Throughout his career, Michael has focused on solving industry-wide problems with technology-driven solutions. His forward-thinking approach continues to shape the future of healthcare, making him a sought-after speaker on innovation, efficiency, and the power of technology in transforming complex systems.
